Welcome!

Portsmouth Abbey RI  and Edinburgh Scotland are the venues for the leGassickSquash Camps this summer - 2013.  Celebrating our 23rd year of leGassick Squash Junior Camps this summer the Scottish National Coach Roger Flynn is again heading an outstanding coaching staff.

After three weeks on the beautiful campus of Portsmouth Abbey, we again return for two weeks to the National Scottish Squash Training Center at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh to train with the Scottish National Junior squads this July, with Tournament play in the Junior Open Squash Tournament at Heriot-Watt University during the middle weekend July 13-14.

These Junior Squash Camps are highly structured and planned to the minute day in day out - they are designed to help improve a serious Junior squash player's game in an intensive, competitive learning squash training camp environment. We have numerous campers return for repeat years.

Our Background

Starting in June of 1990 we are the second longest running US Junior Squash Camp in the country.  Twenty three years later leGassickSquash Camps  have enjoyed working with well over  fifteen hundred  Junior squash players who have benefited from their time on and off the courts at Brown University (and this summer at Portsmouth Abbey) and also in Edinburgh Scotland. This summer we again welcome the Scottish National Coach Roger Flynn, The Scottish Squash Assistant National Coach Stuart Crawford and Scotland #1, World #28 Alan Clyne to the leGassickSquash Camps at Portsmouth Abbey and Edinburgh. When Roger returns to Scotland, 'leGassickSquash' will again follow him back to Edinburgh, Scotland, to conduct a two week intensive squash camp on Roger's home turf, including participation in the Heriot-Watt Junior Squash Open Tournament which we play on our 'home courts'! (And possibly a visit to the 'Open' Golf tournament at Muirfield - just down the road!).

Our camps over the years have seen many campers repeat their participation each summer.  The campers enjoy the enthusiastic and wonderful coaches who teach them and also their highly structured days.  Facilities are first class and coach/camper ratio is usually 1:3 with opportunities for one on one lessons. With a National Coach leading the coaching the instruction is second to none.

The Scottish Camp in Edinburgh is an exciting and intensive learning experience. It is a unique squash camp - the camp is located at a national squash training center; a national squash coach leads the coaching; the campers include national junior squad players from Scotland, US Junior players and other junior squash campers from all over the world; campers can practice with the Scottish National Senior Squads; and 23 year Ivy League squash coach Stuart le Gassick  is on site and personally oversees the camp. All this and the beautiful City of Edinburgh on our doorstep. If you are interested please feel free to contact us with any other questions you may have about the camps.

We are looking forward to a summer of learning, fun and squash and we hope that you are interested in joining us.

Please note the leGassickSquash Camp LLC is owned by  and run for the benefit of Stuart leGassick - the Brown University Head Squash Coach (and a NCAA Division One coach).  The camp is not affiliated directly with Brown University.
